Flushing & Engine Protection

Posted on April 24, 2022

The popularity of engine cleaning preparations has been growing for years. The effectiveness of engine flushes has been confirmed by numerous tests, and the products enjoy positive opinions among mechanics and drivers.

What does engine flushing give?

Engine flushing is a very important maintenance activity, which among other things removes deposits and carbon from all internal engine surfaces, increases compression in cylinders, increases engine power by releasing stuck piston rings. A clean engine means more power, lower fuel consumption and overall improved performance. Engine flushing is worth applying when:

the engine burns oil, the vehicle is blowing out dark or blue smoke, you bought a car or engine and do not know its history, you feel a loss of engine power, the car is mostly driven in the city.

How to choose an effective flush?

Many factors determine the quality of a given product, so choosing the ideal agent is a difficult task. It is worth knowing that not all flushes available on the market are safe for the engine. Even top-brand products contain substances in their composition that can adversely affect the operation of the drive unit. It should be remembered above all that a good flush should:

strongly soften and remove deposits and carbon from all internal engine surfaces, remove carbon from the piston ring grooves, restore compression, evaporate – when the customer forgets that the product is in the engine, maintain neutral pH of the oil (flush cannot contain acids, because they cause a change in the pH of the new oil, after mixing with the remnants of these ingredients).

Ingredients that can be dangerous

A product whose main task is to dissolve carbon should contain solvents in its composition, because it is they who deal with this type of contamination. If a given flush does not contain appropriate solvents, how will it deal with dissolving carbon and other contaminants?

We should be alerted by the presence of acids and esters in the composition. The presence of acids can lead to acidification of the oil environment and leaks, which is particularly possible in older and heavily used constructions. Esters, on the other hand, absorb moisture from seals, which reduces their volume, which can lead to leaks and leaks. Before choosing a product, it is worth familiarizing yourself with the characteristics and composition of a given mixture.

Safe composition of TEC 2000 Engine Flush

What distinguishes TEC 2000 Engine Flush among other products of this type is primarily a base that does not consist of diesel or oil. They have been replaced with a non-chlorinated hydrocarbon base, which means that harmful fumes are not produced during its use and it is much more environmentally friendly.

In the composition of TEC 2000 flush, we will find detergents and softeners such as Toluene, Pentene, Nitrate, which have softening and washing properties of the deposit, and are safe for engine seals. Their action allows for the removal of dirt adhering to metal surfaces, even in the most difficult to reach places, which are then removed from the drive unit along with the used oil.

Adding a regular flush to the engine oil always causes a decrease in oil viscosity. Engine components during work with the applied flush are less protected and exposed to damage. To guarantee maximum safety during the process, TEC 2000 has been equipped with special lubricating compounds, which are added to the product under extreme pressures and have above-average lubricating properties (due to product secrecy, we cannot list them here). The applied additives protect and effectively secure the engine during flushing.

The TEC 2000 Engine Flush product does not contain acids, making itsafe for engine seals (rubbers, silicones, and even composite cylinder head gaskets). Its neutral pH does not acidify the oil environment, allowing the oil to maintain proper alkalinity while also protecting the engine from corrosion. In addition, it does not cause oxidation of aluminum and other metals, which lead to faster engine wear.

TEC 2000 Engine Flush can be used with all types of oils: MINERAL, HYDROCRACKING, PAO, PAG, ESTERS, or even GTL. In other words, it can be applied in vehicles: commonly used, motorsport, classic cars as well as specialized use machines.
